When we made apple sauce in the winter... we sequenced the steps in order! Cut and pasted by the students independently. I provided a teacher's example.
With the use of the correct sequencing terminology, of course!
I created a poster to help the students put on their winter gear in a timely and effective way. It sings to the tune of "head and shoulders, knees and toes."
We celebrate and welcome all faiths and celebrations in our classroom. This is one example, of a poem during Chinese New Year. Kung Hai Fat Choi!
A poem highlighting the importance and value of friendship during this V day!
This is the chart I used to help the students classify and visually remember their 2D shapes. This was done during a whole group lesson.
This is what it turned out with the help of the students! Let them draw and write so they are engaged in their own learning.
The book I read to the class to introduce 2d shapes in a fictional story, as well as touching on friendship and differences!
These paper bags were used to store clues for an activity during whole group lesson on 2D shapes.
The students enjoyed this activity. They were very engaged and made many great connections with the world and the math lesson. They used their resources around the classroom from the chart we made last week!
To introduce 3D shapes, I had the students read this poem togethor as a class, and then identify the shapes at the bottom of the poem.
I showed them the 3D shapes using these objects we had in and around the classroom. They made great connections to other objects they may have seen, and referred back to the 2D chart as well.
I had the students make a list of the shapes with their drawings. Drawing the 3D shapes were a little tough, however, by probing and asking questions about the 2D shape it relates to, students had very little trouble drawing the 3D shapes!
